TiPb reports a new jailbreak designed for Apple devices running iOS4 has been released.

The jailbreak, created by a user under the alias of comex, is accessed on a iOS4 device via Safari by navigating the browser to jailbreakme.com. Using a fancy web-based interface, a user simply slides their finger across the screen to perform the jailbreak.

A note of caution, reports are coming in that some have bricked their phones using this jailbreak, or are missing features such as Facetime and MMS. Please remember this before performing the jailbreak. Performing a backup is also always highly recommend before attempting a change such as this. A hard restore may correct issues stemming from a botched jailbreak. As expected, jailbreakme.com is experiencing a high load, and performance may be sluggish. This could be the cause behind the hit and miss bricking issues the jailbreak creates.

Currently ultrasn0w and other soft carrier unlocks do not work as of yet.

Redmond Pie has complied a list of all devices currently able to utilize the jailbreak.

Have you successfully jail broken your iOS4 device? Let us know in the comments!

[Update] A reader has tipped us off that this may be a fix for the MMS and FaceTime issues some have been plagued with: If you backed up BEFORE the jailbreak you can right click the iPhone icon and select Restore From Backup. The Settings will be overwritten and MMS, Facetime and Cydia will all be there.

We just learned from an inside source close to Google that they are hard at work on the successor of the Nexus One, dubbed the Nexus Two.

Although not too much information has been revealed about the Nexus Two, the tipster has revealed Google is going to release it within the next month. With other rumors of Android 3.0 in the wild, running on what looks to be the Nexus One, which could actually be the first image of the Nexus Two, shows the device running a new firmware with a piece of paper covering the top of the phone.

Nexus One may not have sold a lot of units, around 135,000 units in the first three months, and was even dropped by Sprint due to poor sales and because its bigger competition, the HTC EVO 4G, was about to debut for release.

Google stopped shipping the Nexus One earlier this month, closing its online store so consumers couldn’t purchase the phone directly from the company themselves.

According to our source, the Nexus Two is set to release next month, but no pricing, date or technical specs were released, but Google is secretly working on the Nexus Two. One thing is for sure, Google will need to make this release a good one if they want to compete with Apple’s iPhone 4, Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7, and the HTC EVO 4G.

Google revealed today perhaps the biggest update yet for the YouTube mobile website since it first became available in 2007, bringing improvements such as HTML5 support and a revamped user interface.

According to Google, the mobile website, which offers a way for those on mobile devices like Apple’s iPhone or Google’s Nexus One the opportunity to view YouTube videos without using native applications, has seen exponential growth (160% in the past year in fact), and now streams more than 100 million videos per day to users across the globe (roughly the same amount as the desktop version of YouTube was receiving when Google acquired it in 2006).

With mobile consumption continuing to grow strongly, the YouTube team has made every effort to improve the usability and speed of the newly designed web app with this latest update, which is only available at this stage for iOS and Android devices. Based primarily around touch-screen devices, YouTube Mobile is now faster than ever before, with a much more visually impressive and user friendly interface that represents its also newly redesigned desktop counterpart. Long-awaited functions such as the ability to “favorite,” “like” or “unlike” videos, and create video playlists from the mobile website, are now available, while a new ”home screen” view, similar in looks to that of the Facebook for iPhone and LinkedIn for iPhone applications, allows quick access to places around the YouTube Mobile site such as favorites, playlists, and subscriptions.

Videos on the HTML5 capable site will be of higher quality than even the native YouTube iPhone application, which is still using a streaming format designed for second generation Edge networks. Through the new mobile site, you can also watch better quality videos by toggling a new “HQ” option, which is toggled on by default.

The team at YouTube is making every effort possible to convert users from native apps to the new site, prompting new visitors on the iPhone to install the web app on the home screen and making it clear that the mobile site will be updated with support for new features before native apps get that support(in particular, the iPhone YouTube app which Apple has full development control over – not Google).

YouTube’s new mobile site will be rolling out over the course of the day in English only, with support for additional languages to be made available in the coming months.

According to Engadget, Microsoft has shown off the newest build of Windows Phone 7, which has some minor changes but shows how the Mobile OS is coming along. Long Zheng has photos from a Tech Ed event in North America this week that show how well the build has progressed since MIX in April of this year.

The biggest difference is a more compact lock screen – with smaller, subtler text for the time and date. Also, some of the tiles have been updated with new designs and icons – namely Outlook and Marketplace, so they stand out more.

Long goes on to point out that the build looks much more “feature complete” and that it was more responsive in the demonstration than previous builds had been – as this is expected with a product nearing release. Microsoft also announced this week that it would deliver actual prototype devices to developers “very soon”.

Windows Phone 7 was announced at Mobile World Congress in February and is the highly anticipated successor to the Windows Mobile mobile OS – they announced that Windows Phone 7 would be available by “holiday season 2010″, and that Microsoft would essentially be taking a break from the mobile market until then. Windows Phone 7 was built “from the ground up” and the UI has changed, as well as the underlaying code of the OS.

The gallery below shows off some of the new updates and progress in the latest build. You can view more over at Long’s Flickr.
