The news of BitComet getting banned from FileHippo.com is quite old as dated April 2008, There was not much Exposure about the news as BitComet usage is quite less as compared to uTorrent, Vuze & BitLord.
FileHippo Claimed, BitComet Official have been copying their site text, files, images and update checker and are passing it off as original work.
As shown on the above image, FileHippo clearly declares “As of April 2008 FileHippo will no longer be updating BitComet. As they have copied the FileHippo site text, files, images and update checker and are passing it off as original work. We recommend you use a different more reputable torrent client such as uTorrent.” Which can be confirmed by checking it on Official Page too.
The Latest Version of BitComet on FileHippo is 0.99 while the actual latest version on Official BitComet site is 1.16, Which actually confirms that FileHippo won’t be updating it forever now.
Don’t bother using them. Utorrent is better IMHO. They’re very lightweight which is why I love them so much
